BASINGSTOKE Bison boss Doug Sheppard wants his side to keep their recent winning run going this weekend.

After the league champions struggled at the start of the campaign, they have won their last four games and are now fifth in the English Premier League table.

The Herd are out for revenge on Saturday when they face another visit from the Peterborough Phantoms, who beat them in the penalty shoot-out when last in Basingstoke.

The Herd will go into the contest minus British forward Alan Lack, who has decided to take a step back from playing due to work and family commitments, but Rene Jarolin is fit after being injured at Bracknell on Sunday.

Talking about Saturday’s home game which starts at 6.30pm, the Bison boss said: “We have to find a way to win this time, but I know it is going to be tough.”

On Sunday, the Bison will make their first ever trip to Blackpool to take on the Manchester Phoenix.

They maybe bottom of the table, but in the small seaside rink, it is not going to be easy for the Herd and the head coach is fully aware of this.

Sheppard said: “I have never been there, but know it is small rink.

"They have some dangerous players and I expect them to have a few more bodies back. We have to make sure we go there and play for the whole 60 minutes.”
