TRAVIS Penny collected a magnificent seven assists and scored two goals as the Basingstoke under-13 Bison went goal crazy as they beat visiting Cardiff 16-5.

The visitors took the lead after 29 seconds and the Bison replied a minute later as Charlie Wedge scored his first of a hat-trick.

Cardiff took the lead again, before the home side scored four unanswered goals from Sophie Halstead, Harrison Wynn, Wedge and Jakub Marczyk, with Oliver Hemming-Maher getting an assist on the Wedge goal.

The visitors narrowed the gap, but the goals kept coming for the young Herd as they led 8-3 at the interval as Cain Russell scored a brace and Wynn his second in the game.

The second session saw five more goals from the home side as Russell completed their hat-trick and Tyton Cathcart scored assisted by Harry Brewer and Adam Hughes.

It was left to Penny and Russell, with his fourth, to complete the period scoring taking the score to 13-3.

The final session was a lot closer as Penny, Marczyk and Samuel Hemming-Maher all hit the net.

The previous week, Penny and Russell both scored four times as the under-13s won a high scoring contest at Cardiff 11-7.

The visitors were 3-2 down at the first break, despite a Russell brace, the first being assisted by Hemming-Maher.

The second session belonged to the young Herd, as they scored three goals without reply, with the first coming from Penny.

He then turned provider, along with Wynn, as Russell completed his hat-trick. Wedge then made it 5-2.

The final 15 minutes, saw goals galore as the Bison won it 6-4 and scored three times in the opening 93 seconds of the session.

This was thanks to Penny, Marczyk and Wedge which was assisted by Cathcart.

The Bison scoring was completed by Russell's fourth and two more from Penny which took his tally to four as well.

The under-13s are next in action against Guildford on April 9.
