THE Basingstoke Buffalo booked their place in the promotion play-offs as they moved back to the top of South West Two after they beat the Wightlink Tigers 8-4.
Matt Lawday hit a hat-trick as they scores were level at 3-3 after 30 minutes. His goals were assisted by Hallam Wilson and man of the match Neil Leary along with Matt Levy.
Wilson then edged the Buffalo in front at 33:33 and then Lawday with this fourth made it 5-3 assisted by Warren Jones and Wilson.
The final period saw Leary extend the visitors lead further and then he and Greg Martyn combined for Wilson to make it 7-3.
Levy converted a pass from Loris Taylor for the Buffalo's eighth, before Wightlink completed the scoring.
The weekend they are in Oxford to play the Bristol Pitbulls.
