THE Basingstoke Bison can wrap up the English Premier League title this weekend, if they can beat the reigning league champions the Telford Tigers and the Swindon Wildcats.

The Herd travel to Shropshire on Saturday (6pm) to face the Tigers, before they return to home ice on Sunday (5.30pm) when the Wildcats visit.

Both sides are still hunting for a top four place in the EPL, so it is not an easy weekend for the league leaders, as they look to clinch the league crown with a week to spare.

The Herd will be at full strength for the weekend, having been boosted by the return of injured British forwards Grant Rounding and Alan Lack in last Saturday’s superb 10-0 win over Hull.

Looking ahead to his side’s penultimate weekend of the season, Bison head coach Doug Sheppard said: “We have two quality teams to face this weekend and we will take it one game at a time. We know the trip to Telford will be tough, but we are playing well at the moment and want this to continue.

“We then return to home ice on Sunday and face a Swindon team who on their day can beat anyone, so we have to make sure we are ready for them.”
