ANDRE Norris and Matthew West both scored twice as the Basingstoke under-15 Bison moved five points clear at the top of South Two, after they beat visiting Oxford 6-2.

Oxford opened the scoring at 13:15, but almost immediately the Herd hit back as West scored assisted by William Birch and Bradley Poole just 24 seconds later.

The Bison took control of the game in the second session with three unanswered goals with Travis Penny netting the first on the powerplay and he hammered home a pass from Cain Russell.

West with his second of the game scored a minute later from Poole and Samuel Stephens.

Norris then opened his account as he finished a nice move which involved Oliver Bower and Lucas Swierc.

The final period saw Oxford net their second of the game, before the Herd replied with their third powerplay goal of the night from Norris as he converted Bower’s pass.

It was left to Poole to complete the scoring assisted by Emily Harris and Thomas Banner.
