LAST weekend saw us extend our winning run to eight games.

Now that we’re into the second half of the season, we can see that how well we do this season is in our hands.

We’re not chasing teams, hoping other results go our way.

There are lots of things that have to come together to build consistent form.

It certainly helps to take an early lead in a game, as we’ve been doing for some time.

The whole team is playing well defensively and of course our goal tender Jon Baston gives everyone in front of him confidence.

He’s has six shut outs so far, a Bison club record, three of those in consecutive games.

Last Saturday, his saves included turning away a disputed penalty shot.

Tom Karpov celebrated his return to fitness by opening the scoring against Manchester in our 5-0 win.

We’ve still got a lot of players out through injury, but the spirit in the team is such that everyone is stepping up to cope with this.

We’ve been playing with a four man defence, but look forward to Joe Baird possibly returning this weekend.

Alan Lack will be back, as we take on Sheffield at home and then travel away to Telford.

We’ve got five games in the next eight days.

This is including the first leg of our English Premier League Cup semi-final against Guildford on Wednesday January 20.

This is a very demanding schedule, for players and fans alike.

Over a thousand fans come to the rink for each game and we look forward to their support.

Just make sure you get your ticket in time, especially for the Cup game.
