THE Basingstoke under-11 and under-13 Bison went goal crazy at the weekend, scoring 26 times between them.

The under-11s hammered visiting Bracknell 14-1, while the under-13s enjoyed a 15-6 success away at Slough.

The under-11s were straight out of the blocks, with Henry Emery scoring his first of four goals after just 36 seconds.

The young Herd dominated the first session as they built up an 8-0 lead. Emery completed a period hat-trick, while Oliver Hemmings-Maher grabbed two. James Bryan, Roman Cathcart and Simon Johnson also scored.

The second session saw Finlay Thomas net Jude Affleck’s rebound and then Hemmings-Maher completed his hat-trick to take the score into double figures.

Bracknell then scored their lone strike, before Emery and Jessica Banner scored to make it 12-1 at the second buzzer.

Cathcart scored the final two goals of the game to complete his hat-trick, while Troy Juul was named man of the match.

In Slough, Kody Sewell, Travis Penny, Cain Russell, Harrison Wynn and Charlie Wedge all scored hat-tricks in the under-13 Bison’s 15-6 victory.

The under-18 Bison lost 9-1 at Chelmsford, with Sam Brooks scoring their only goal.

The Basingstoke Buffalo opened their South Cup campaign with a 6-2 victory over the visiting Chelmsford Warriors.

The Essex side scored first, but new boy Warren Jones levelled things, assisted by Greg Martyn and David Collins.

Man-of-the-match Jones extended the lead with a shot from in front of the home bench and Hallam Wilson scored from Daniel Lackey and Louis Taylor before Neil Leary set up debut boy Graham Bellamy to make it 4-1 at the second buzzer.

Paul Petts and Sam Dollin combined for Wilson to net his second and Petts made it 6-1 before the Warriors netted late on.
