THE Basingstoke Buffalo open their National League South Two Cup campaign this Saturday (6.30pm) as they face a visit from the Chelmsford Warriors.

The home side will include forward Ryan Sutton and defenceman Daniel Lackey, both of whom have played for the Herd this campaign.

Last season, the Buffalo finished runners-up in both the league and cup and they will be looking to go one better this time around.

The Warriors are the leaders of Group B, having already beaten the other two teams, Peterborough Islanders and Lee Valley Lions.

There was only one junior game last weekend, with the under-11 Bison losing 9-4 at Milton Keynes.

The visitors started well, with Freddie Stephens opening the scoring.

A brace from Jeremy Davis either side of the first break gave the Herd a 3-2 lead before the home side scored five unanswered goals.

Harvey West added a fourth goal for the visitors before MK completed the scoring.

The under-11 Bison will hope to bounce back to winning ways, when they host Bracknell on Sunday night (4.15pm).
