BASINGSTOKE Bison under-15 forward Emily Harris is set to make her England debut next month after being selected for the under-16 team for a tournament in Finland.

The Odiham ice hockey player was the second-highest goal scorer for the under-14 Bison last season, netting 18 times in 13 games, and also played for the Bracknell Ice Bees.

The Lord Wandsworth student has played at Basingstoke all her life, figure skating for ice hockey kit when she was seven.

The 13-year-old hammered in four goals for the Ice Bees as they won the National Championship 7-4 in Ice Sheffield against the Kingston Diamonds.

Harris scored a brace in the space of two minutes in the opening session, but Kingston hit back to level before the first buzzer.

The teenager completed her hat-trick midway through the second period, but the Diamonds again levelled.

The Ice Bees took a slender 4-3 lead into the last session and Harris’ fourth broke open the game.
