I DIDN’T realise last Saturday that a win against Swindon would mean we would equal the club record in the English Premier League of 10 consecutive home wins.

This run of wins has seen the crowds increasing week on week and for the second Saturday we played in a sold-out arena.

For the players, they get so much energy playing in front of so many people.

They gave Dean Skinns, our goal-tender, a great reception when the game was halted briefly after two minutes to celebrate his achievement of playing 10,000 league minutes for the Bison.

He played an important part in our successes in our anniversary year. As a local lad, he wears the Bison shirt with special pride.

Swindon, unfortunately, broke our run of home wins. I couldn’t fault the effort of the team, but we gave up too many odd-man rushes to a team with players with the skill and speed to turn this to their advantage.

We were roared on as we tried to equalise in the third period but we came up just short.

The memory of the game in Bracknell at the beginning of the season, when Matt Selby was injured and we threw away a lead, meant that we had to come back on Sunday with a good performance.

We played very well for the first two periods and built up a 5-1 lead.

It is easy to see why Bracknell have been taking points from their recent opponents as they don’t stop working for the full 60 minutes.

Our last home game before the play-offs is on Sunday against Milton Keynes. We don’t like turning people away, so make sure of your seat by booking in advance.

All the best,

Doug
