BASINGSTOKE Buffalo have top spot in the National League Two South West in their sights this Sunday, when they face a visit from current leaders Cardiff Devils.

The top-of-the-table clash has a 6.30pm face-off and the home side will be keen to repeat their 9-0 mauling of Swindon Wildcats which they produced in their last home league outing.

The Buffalo will be at full strength for the clash against their Welsh rivals and will include Hallam Wilson and Alex Sampford, who have both scored for the Bison this season in the English Challenge Cup.

In their last outing the Buffalo suffered their first National League Cup loss to competition favourites Slough Jets going down 6-1.

However, the Buffalo are still second in the group behind Slough and in a strong position to qualify for the semi-finals.

The visitors took hold of the contest in the first 20 minutes, as they scored three unanswered goals from Tomas Gilheany, Lewis Tribble and Conor Redmond.

The second session saw Buffalo netminder Chris Edwards only beaten once by Josh Ealey-Newman which made it 4-0.

Two further goals in the third period from Redmond and Allan Green made sure of the Jets win.

The Buffalo opened their account thanks to Ben Edwards, as he converted a pass from Greg Martyn.

The home side’s man-of-the-match was hard-working forward Ryan Sutton.
