BASINGSTOKE Bison players served up a treat for their fans at Top of the Town restaurant Zizzi and in the process raised over £500 for Stand Up to Cancer.

The evening was organised as part of the link-up between the Herd and their new sponsors this season, Zizzi.

It saw the Herd stars take orders and serve drinks and meals to customers, using a buddy system with members of restaurant staff.

All the tips collected on the night went to the charity and there was also a raffle.

Bison boss Doug Sheppard said: “It was great fun and all the guys enjoyed it.

“It was great to raise so much money.”

Zizzi general manager Tim Marlow was delighted with the evening and said: “It proved to be a fantastic night and when we sat down to organise it with Doug (Sheppard), we talked about doing it for charity, but I did not think we would raise as much as we did.

“So a big thank you must go to everyone for making it such a big success.”

Stand Up to Cancer is the charity the company are supporting for the next three years. The restaurant staff are hoping to do another evening with the Bison later in the season.
