BASINGSTOKE Buffalo recovered from two goals down to romp to a 10-2 victory over the visiting Wightlink Tigers at the Basingstoke Arena on Sunday.

The visitors raced into a two-goal lead with just 10:22 on the clock, but Basingstoke managed to pull one back before the first buzzer, Gregory Martyn netting from Neil Leary at 12:37. Martyn got his second of the night on the powerplay in the second period, assisted by Hallam Wilson, before putting the Buffalo ahead for the first time with his hat-trick goal at 29:41, with Wilson getting the assist once more.

The game was still tight at the second buzzer, with the Herd leading 3-2, but they dominated the final session, scoring seven times without reply. Stuart Mogg got their fourth of the night, assisted by Mark Pitts and Alex Sampford, with Pitts getting the next, set-up by Sampford.

Matthew Lawday was next to net, assisted by Pitts and David Collins, while Ryan Sutton and Paul Petts combined for Roberto Tambellini to score the seventh.

Pitts set up Sampford for goal number eight, with Leary getting the ninth, assisted by Martyn and Wilson. Sampford completed the scoring on the powerplay, with Pitts getting the assist.

The under-18 Bison were beaten 7-4 by the visiting Bracknell Bees.

Josh Richards opened the scoring for the hosts, but the Bees led 2-1 at the first buzzer thanks to a pair of powerplay goals and they found the net twice more in the second period.

Three goals in quick succession had the Bison level, with Petts scoring either side of a Wilson strike, but Bracknell scored three further goals to win the game.

The under-12 Bison lost 14-1 at home to Guildford. Samuel Hemmings got their only goal in the final period, assisted by Harry Brooks.
