WITH the league season coming to an exciting close, we’re pleased to have so much to play for.

It’s a journey that our fans are making with us in this Anniversary Year.

Last Wednesday, several coach-loads made themselves heard against Milton Keynes in Coventry as we set ourselves up well for the second leg with a 4-1 win.

Our netminder, Dean Skinns, made some big saves in a closely contested opening period. We went on to take our scoring chances.

The final score may have been slightly flattering.

We know how quickly ice hockey games can swing so, as I write this, we’re getting ready for what will be a great night’s hockey to decide who takes the Cup held presently by Guildford.

At the weekend, Swindon Wildcats reminded both ourselves and Milton Keynes just how competitive the league is this year, beating us both.

The 5-2 scoreline against us may also have been slightly flattering, but all credit to Swindon for their win.

We’ve got two more home league games to complete. The first of these is on Saturday against Sheffield. These have always been close games and attract large crowds.

Then it’s on to the bus for players and fans on Sunday to Manchester. We’ve been neck and neck with Tony Hand’s team all season.

This is our final meeting of the season and the fact that so many fans are making this journey reflects the significance of the game.

We’ve enjoyed this season and know that our fans have too. Here’s hoping we continue to pack the rink out.

Just make sure you get your tickets in time and don’t miss out on the excitement.

All the best,

Doug
