Bramley United top of Division Two
3:52pm Wed 16 Apr 08
Bramley United went top of division two after a draw with AC Marstons but the visitors could still pip them for promotion if results go their way; Bramley started well and created all the chances but could only put one of them away when a cross from Walsh was tapped in by Stuart Woods, but then Marstons pooped the party with a devastating equaliser ten minutes from the end.
Division Two
4:34pm Wed 2 Apr 08
Bramley United needed to beat promotion hopefuls Republic of Chineham to maintain their bid for the division two title. It was a close-run contest, firstly from his own penalty box Tom Walsh launched an 80-yard pass to Nick Stone, whose scuffed shot fooled the keeper to open the scoring; then the Republic equalised, before a neat pass from Ramsey Lewis to Tom Walsh whose shot from distance sneaked just inside the post; finally Bramley's Matt Powell's great save near the end secured the points for Bramley and virtually put paid to Republic of Chineham's promotion chance. AFC Berg scored the quickest goal of the year, away at AC Marsto s, Chris Dobby netting after just 15 seconds before completing his brace later in the half. AC Marstons pulled one back before the break, but AFC Berg increased their lead early in the second half. Then, in an amazing turnaround, AC Marstons scored four to win the match 5-3, with Jeff Nagy getting a hat-trick, and a goal added by Patrick Cook. B&NH Cricket Club Reserves beat FC Popinjay 7-3, Jason Freathy scoring a consolation hat-trick for the losers, while team-mate Brian Smith fired in a cracking own goal at the other end!
Divison Two
8:34pm Mon 24 Mar 08
AC Marstons took a first-half lead over Bramley United, but Bramley dominated the second half to dent Marstons' division two promotion hopes and for themselves close the gap at the top to three points. Stuart Wood equalised with a fine solo run, added a second with a header, and Rob Williams hit home the third.
