AFTER the success of the England Women in their Six Nations Campaign, Basingstoke RFC are once again honoured to host training sessions as they prepare for the World Cup in Ireland in August 2017.

An open training session will take place today at Basingstoke's home Down Grange from 2pm until 4pm, after which there will be an opportunity to meet and chat to the players.

Last month, England won the Six Nations Grand Slam and Red Roses will use the club as a training base for their forwards who live in the South of England.

Russell Amos, Girls’ Rugby Lead at Basingstoke RFC was overwhelmed with the approach and expressed the club’s willingness to help the cause and said: "The girls and women’s section at Basingstoke RFC has grown exponentially over the last five years.

"Having the England Women here to train at our club has been the icing on our cake: it has been inspirational for us to watch the Red Roses at our club preparing first for the Six Nations, and we are excited and delighted to welcome them back to continue their World Cup preparations."
