BASINGSTOKE RFC will hope to return to winning ways in London Three South West this Saturday, when they travel to Teddington this weekend.

Last weekend, Stoke suffered a double whammy defeat ,as they lost to visiting Hampshire rivals Trojans 29-5.

This was because the game counted as league points as well as being the semi-final of the Hampshire Bowl.

The defeat also saw the home side miss out on the chance to go third in the league, after Old Cranleighans also lost.

Tom Allen scored their club’s only try in the match. This came in the first half, after some great forward momentum driving the Trojans pack deep into their own half.

Looking back at loss captain Robbie Northcote said: “Saturday was very frustrating because it’s seeming like we cannot string 80 minutes together, however we can’t forget how well we’ve done this season compared to last year.

“We’re in a much better shape both from a league perspective and from a playing numbers perspective.

“It feels good to be part of a club that has finally levelled off and stopped free falling through the leagues.”
