BASINGSTOKE RFC suffered a double whammy defeat as they lost to visiting Hampshire rivals Trojans 29-5.
This was because the game was a London South West Three clash, as well as being the semi-final of the Hampshire Bowl.
Trojans will now meet Eastleigh in the final The visitors took the game to Basingstoke but also did their share of defending over the first 10 minutes before Johnny Smyth dived over close to the posts and Chris Boyd added the extras.
Strong mauling by the home side got them across the line with Tom Allen scoring and there was just two points between the teams at half time.
However, Trojans stamped their authority on the game after the interval. A maul of their own ended up with a yellow card for a home side player and prop Marcus Coffin bundled his way over for Tom Stevenson to convert.
On the quarter hour, a high defensive kick was allowed to bounce by the home side and No 8 Alex Williams snatched it and charged for the line, offloading to Greg Ward to score under the posts to give Boyd an easy conversion.
Scrum-half Stevenson put in a scintillating run down the touch line to score in the corner to give Trojans the bonus point before he went on to finish the scoring with a penalty.
