BASINGSTOKE RFC's Academy side enjoyed an excellent 62-12 win over Grove last weekend at Down Grange.
The home side made an excellent start as scrum-half Jak Pill scored an early try and it became 14-0 soon after as Oscar Rowley put in winger Jordan Strudwick for his first try of the season, Joseph Campbell slotted over the conversion.
Grove replied with a try, but the home side led 26-5 at half-time, as Daniel Mairs and then man-of-the-match Jordan Strudwick ran in from 30 metres out both scored.
Campbell opened Stoke's account after the break, before the visitors replied.
The home side scored again as hooker Tommy Parker, Pill, Ewan Watson and Campbell all combined for Mairs to crash through three tackles to touch down.
After this Stoke dominated as Campbell scored again and then flanker Jack Saunders, full back Oscar Rowley and lock Jack Rushworth all went over as the home side finished impressive 62-12 winners.
Academy head coach Steve Parker said: “It was a superb team performance as we were missing nine players due to injury.
