THE Basingstoke RFC Academy warmed up for their Hampshire Cup campaign in fine style, winning 51-3 at Portsmouth.
The visitors took four minutes to open the scoring, winger Jack Burchill running in from 30 metres, while fly-half Callum Donnelly soon doubled the lead.
Further tries from scrum-half Jak Pill, flanker Jack Saunders and centre Gabe Glynn came before half-time.
After the break, the scores kept coming, with captain Liam Kent-Jordan, flanker Scott Bentley, full-back Leon Williams and Glynn all crossing the whitewash to score.
