CHARLOTTE Purdue will make her World Championship debut tomorrow, running in the Women’s Marathon event.

The Hook runner booked her place in the event being held in London after she was the second British women home in the London Marathon, earlier this year.

The 26-year-old came in 15th overall in personal best time time of two hours 29 minutes and 23 seconds.

The women’s marathon starts at 2pm at Tower Bridge and also finishes at the same place.

The course comprises of four laps of a six-mile course on closed roads, heading west along Victoria Embankment towards the Houses of Parliament, then back alongside the River Thames to St Paul’s Cathedral, before returning via the Tower of London.

Looking ahead to the race, Purdue said: "I am really excited as it my first major championships and training has been going really well."
