OWEN Richardson tremendous run of success this summer had continued with victory at the South of England Athletic Championship at Lee Valley.
He won gold in the under-20 400 metres in a time of 47.72 seconds, which meant automatic selection to represent England at the Welsh International to be held in Cardiff on July 21.
Last weekend, Richardson ran the 400m under-20 at the England Athletics Championships held in Bedford and gained a silver medal with a time of 47.53s in a final with competitors two years older.
He has now been invited to run the 400m in the senior British Championships/Olympic Trials with heats being held over this coming weekend in Birmingham.
This maintains the teenager's number two ranking in the UK for the under 20 age group for the 400m.
