Basingstoke Bison suffer loss at Guildford Flames

THE Basingstoke Bison hopes of staying top of the English Premier League went up in smoke as they lost 6-2 at the Guildford Flames on Sunday night.

Goals from David Savage and Paul Dixon put the home side 2-0 up at the first break.

Jez Lundin added a third early in the second session before Andy Melachrino scored his first Bison goal and then Joe Miller pulled it back to 3-2.

However, that was as good as it got as Stuart Potts and Ricky Plant set the seeds for victory before David Longstaff added a sixth before the second buzzer.

The loss saw the Bison slip to third in the table and this weekend they face a double header against the Swindon Wildcats with the home game on Sunday.
