Justin Rose moves up to fifth in golf's world rankings

A SECOND-PLACE finish at the Tour Championship in America has moved Justin Rose up to fifth in the world rankings - a career high.

The 32-year-old, who grew up in Hook, finished three shots behind winner Brandt Snedeker at the Tour Championship, the climax of the American season.

The result means he finishes sixth in the 2012 FedEx Cup standings and is into the world's top five for the first time.

Rose must now turn his attention to helping Europe retain the Ryder Cup at Medinah this weekend.
