Bison fall to first defeat of season

THE Basingstoke Bison's winning start to the season came to an end last night as they were beaten 3-2 by local rivals the Bracknell Bees.

The visiting Herd got off to the perfect start, Greg Chambers finding the net after just 22 seconds, assisted by Joe Rand.

However, the Bees hit back straight away, levelling at 6:31 as Martin Masa netted a shorthanded strike, while former Bison defenceman Marcel Petran put his new team ahead just over a minute later.

Masa's second of the game made it 3-1 at 32:49 but Joe Miller got the Bison back into the hunt before the end of the second period, assisted by Chambers.

However, the visitors were unable to level the game in the final period, falling to their first defeat of the English Premier League season as a result.
