- FULL-TIME - Eastbourne Borough 1 (Lok 85) Basingstoke Town 0
4:55pm
Town might feel a bit harshly done-by there. They were not great but deserved a point, while the red card for Nathan Smart was a questionable call.
See The Monday Gazette for a full report and all of the reaction.
4:53pm
Shaun McAuley works space for a shot on the edge of the area but sees his effort blocked.
4:52pm
SUBSTITUTION - Eastbourne Borough - Simon Johnson on for Josh Scowen
4:51pm
YELLOW CARD - Eastbourne Borough - Charlie Gorman
Another soft booking, this time after a foul on Jay Gasson. Town will have four minutes of injury-time to turn things around.
4:50pm
A corner is only cleared as far as Matt Warner just outside the area and his low effort takes a couple of slight deflections before being half-saved and then smuggled clear.
4:47pm
SUBSTITUTION - Eastbourne Borough - Tom Gilbert on for Chris Shephard
4:46pm
GOAL - Eastbourne Borough 1 (Lok 85) Basingstoke Town 0
The hosts string together a decent passage of passes on the edge of the area and substitute Darren Lok drills an accurate low shot into the far corner.
4:45pm
Shaun McAuley smashes in a shot from distance and it's not too far wide.
4:43pm
YELLOW CARD - Basingstoke Town - Tim Sills
Another harsh booking, this time for Sills, who is penalised for jumping with the home 'keeper.
4:41pm
A fine Town move leads to a good save by the home 'keeper. Tim Sills flicks the ball on for Shaun McAuley, whose crossfield pass finds Matt Warner. He in turn finds Jordace Holder-Spooner, whose first touch is excellent, a chest trap setting up a volleyed chance that Nick Jordan does well to push away.
4:37pm
Shaun McAuley is being asked to fill in at right wing-back and Eastbourne go close after an attack down that side, Chris Shephard forcing Ashley Bayes to make an excellent save with an angled drive.
4:31pm
RED CARD - Basingstoke Town - Nathan Smart
It's a scruffy challenge from Smart but little more than a clash of legs. It's not dangerous and the players are in the Eastbourne half but the referee decides it's worthy of a second yellow. Harsh.
4:30pm
YELLOW CARD - Eastbourne Borough - Gary Hart
Hart is booked for a foul on halfway.
4:29pm
That's a great chance for the visitors. Matt Warner knocks a free-kick into the area, Chris Paterson gets up well to flick it on and Tim Sills probably should score at the back post. He's stretching and it's not easy but the experienced striker will be disappointed to see that go wide.
4:24pm
SUBSTITUTION - Eastbourne Borough - Darren Lok on for Charles Ademeno
4:21pm
Jordace Holder-Spooner is the only Town player looking like creating something and good work down the right leads to two chances for Tim Sills.
The first results in a volley that almost clears Nick Jordan, who collects bravely when the lively frontman puts in a second centre a fraction later.
4:18pm
Chris Paterson is immediately involved. He forces Gary Hart wide when the striker looks like he might get in behind and then hacks clear when Jay Gasson doesn't get much on his attempted header clear.
4:17pm
SUBSTITUTION - Basingstoke Town - Chris Paterson on for Ross Adams
Town's injury record remains a problem and Paterson is forced on when Adams breaks down.
4:15pm
Ben Adelsbury makes ground from midfield before getting a shot away - but it's a poor one skewed well wide.
4:07pm
Eastbourne have made a positive start to the second half and Chris Shephard shoots well over from the edge of the area.
4:05pm
No changes at the break and Town get the game back underway at the start of the second half.
3:52pm
HALF-TIME - Eastbourne Borough 0 Basingstoke Town 0
Town made a good start but Eastbourne grew into the game and have created the better openings. It's an improvement on last week but there have been too many long balls from the visitors.
3:49pm
YELLOW CARD - Eastbourne Borough - Josh Scowen
Nathan Smart is perhaps a little fortunate not to give away a penalty after seeming to bring Scowen down. The referee waves play on and Scowen wins it back before clearly diving over Smart's leg to earn a booking.
3:48pm
That's as close as Town have come so far. Ross Adams does well to spread play out to Matt Warner with an excellent crossfield pass and his centre is met by Tim Sills. He gets up and wins the header, with the ball very nearly lobbing over Nick Jordan, who makes the catch.
3:45pm
Some good interplay on the edge of the Town area leads to a chance for Eastbourne defender Ollie Rowe. He turns well before hitting a low shot that Ashley Bayes does well to get down to. A sharp stop from the visiting 'keeper.
3:44pm
YELLOW CARD - Basingstoke Town - Nathan Smart
Chris Shephard attempts to break down the Eastbourne left and Smart hauls him down, resulting in a booking. Wes Daly may also have been booked during the earlier incident and might be on a final warning now.
3:39pm
Eastbourne are having a good spell at the moment. Town can't get their passing going through midfield.
3:24pm
That's a good save from Town 'keeper Ashley Bayes, who dives full-length to his left to keep out Charlie Gorman's low drive from 20 yards.
3:23pm
YELLOW CARD - Eastbourne Borough - Ben Adelsbury
Wes Daly makes a foul on halfway and Adelsbury wades in to confront the Town man, earning himself a booking and sparking a spot of handbags.
3:21pm
That's Eastbourne's best effort so far. Charlie Gorman's cross from the right is nodded down by Josh Scowen for Chris Shephard to volley well over.
3:14pm
Wes Daly floats in a free-kick and it evades everyone to reach Nick Jordan, with Jay Gasson not far away from having a tap-in.
3:11pm
More good work from Jordace Holder-Spooner, who gets in behind the Eastbourne back line, leading to Matt Warner's low cross just evading Shaun McAuley. Holder-Spooner then recycles the ball, with his cross only just being smuggled away.
3:10pm
Town have missed Jordace Holder-Spooner's ability to create something out of nothing and he oes just that, jinking his way into the area before laying the ball back for Wes Daly. His effort is saved unconvincingly by the body of Nick Jordan before Daly smashes a second, more difficult chance, wide.
3:02pm
Eastbourne get the game started. They will play into what is a fairly stiff breeze during this first half.
2:58pm
Team news - Town boss Jason Bristow is able to welcome back Ashley Bayes, Nathan Smart, Shaun McAuley and Jordace Holder-Spooner, who all missed last week's defeat to Hornchurch through injury.
Jide Ogunbote, Delano Sam-Yorke and Stuart Lake all miss out though. It looks like 3-5-2 for the visitors.
Town: Bayes, Smart, Rice, Adams, Gasson, Campbell, Daly, McAuley, Sills, Holder-Spooner, Warner. Subs: Brown, Dunn, Little, Paterson, Morris.
Eastbourne: Jordan, Hamilton, Rowe, Noone, Cole, Gorman, Adelsbury, Scowen, Hart, Ademeno, Shepherd. Subs: Morgan, Johnson, Gilbert, Knight, Lok.
