ODIHAM’S Nick Foster enjoyed his best day of the season at the latest British Touring Car Championship at Knockhill with three top 10 finished.

A wet practice saw Foster come in just as the track was at his fastest and therefore had to settle for a lowly 14th on the grid.

However, in the opening race he battled his way up to eighth and then in race two he was fifth.

The reverse grid was not kind to Foster as he started the final race in sixth spot and the non lap four he tried to past Mat Jackson after the went off the racing line, but as he did the two cars came together sending Foster up on two wheels and this resulted in his steering being damaged so he had to settle for seventh place.

Talking about a very fruitful day in Scotland the Odiham driver said: “I made a few changes to the car and I really felt confident in the car. I came in just when the track was at his best in qualifying, but I was not to know that as by the time I got back out again it was raining and we had lost the window.

“I was really pleased with race one as we moved up the field and then a top five finish was excellent in race two and then in the final race the steering was bent in a incident with a Ford Focus and that made it very difficult for me.” While Foster was enjoying success at Knockhill his youngest son Louis was also have a good day on the track in his kart.

The nine-year-old finished third in the Comer cadet final at Blackbushe despite being one of the youngest drivers in the cadet class which is for drivers aged eight to 13.

Nick Foster is next in action in the BTCC at Rockingham on September 23.
