1:00pm Saturday 8th September 2012 in Sport By Tony Spencer
DIVISION One champions North Warn-borough christened their new ground at The Street, North Warnborough, on Sunday.
However, it did not go to plan as they were knocked off their pedestal with a bump, thrashed 10-0 by Republic of Chineham.
Ryan Stevens led the rout with seven while singles from Luka Pickett, Marco DiNusa and an own-goal completed a memorable opening game for both sides.
AC Marstons failed to score at home as well, going down 6-0 to CI FC.
Paul Oliver netted a hat-trick, Josh Bromley hit the target with a header, Keith Davies also scored and Bruce Davies fired in a top corner 30-yard screamer.
Basingstoke Saints started off their season with a fine 6-2 home win against promoted Overton United. Alan Butler and Rick Pike contributed hat-tricks for the home side, with replies from Tom Mears and Nathan Rae.
