Goddard is eyeing a big double

PROFESSIONAL boxer Matt Goddard is looking to make it two wins out of two when he steps back into the ring on tomorrow night at The Coronet in Elephant and Castle.

Last time at the same venue back in April he outpointed Pavels Senkovs over four rounds and he is looking to do the same in his second fight.

The 21-year-old lightweight is still waiting to find out who his opponent is after Josh Thorn withdrew.

Goodard looked impressive in his first outing and is hoping to put on an even better show for his fans this time around.

The Odiham-based fighter said: “I am looking forward to the fight. Hopefully I will win again, that is my aim.

“I want to get a few wins under my belt to build on for bigger and better fights.”

Goddard has been sparring with European light welterweight champion Gavin Rees as well as training under the watchful eye of Trevor Francis at Essex Road in the town.

Tickets for the show are available. Phone 07803 837129 for more information.
