TADLEY Calleva moved off the bottom of the Wessex League division one table in great style as they beat leaders Verwood 2-1 last Saturday, also came hot on heels of their derby victory over Whitchurch four days earlier.

“It is the best week of our season and everyone at the club is delighted,” said Tadley boss Danny Dolan.

The home side once again worked their socks off from the opening kick-off and James Winfield, the scorer of the winner against Whitchurch, nearly opened the scoring when set free by Danny Vickers.

However, the Verwood goalie made a great one-on-one save and then Tadley conceded so they trailed 1-0 at half-time.

Straight from the second half kick-off the home side levelled as Callum Bush scored with a superb 25-yard strike.

Verwood had a few chances that Darren Maunder was equal to and Tadley went close from James Milford with a couple of one-on-ones and Pete White.

The home side then took the lead as Ian Cadman found White, who squared the ball for Vickers to fire in the winner on 75 minutes.

Milford forced a save as Tadley looked for a third and then Maunder made a great save with his feet with the final kick of the game.
