THE BASINGSTOKE Bison won a thriller on Sunday night as they beat the Slough Jets 5-4 after a penalty shoot-out.
Four times the Jets led in the contest thanks to a brace of goals from Darius Pliskauskas and man-of-the-match Ryan Watt.
However, ever time the Herd hit back as Joe Miller, Daniel Volrab, Tony Redmond and Marcel Petran all scored to send the game into overtime.
That failed to split the teams so the game went into a penalty shoot-out and the first three were all successful as Bison’s Ollie Bronnimann and Steve Moria along with Jets Dan Davies all found the net.
Slough’s Pliskauskas then saw his shot saved and the Herd’s Joe Miller fired over.
It was left to Watt to try and send the shoot-out into sudden death, but Bison netminder Stephen Wall came up with a great poke check to deny him to secure the victory.
