HONOURS were shared between Phoenix and Andover in the Ladies Division of Four clash in the Basingstoke and District Badminton League.

Averil Mason, Sheila Weston, Carolyn Neale and Alison Rendall won their three rubbers each for Phoenix as did Karen Causley, Sue Clarke, Catherine Lewis and Nikki Fletcher for visitors Andover.

Phoenix then suffered a 6-0 defeat to LoddonSherpas, represented by Jenny Skilton, Deborah Hardcastle, Helen Wilcox and Doreen Quilter, while the same scoreline was recorded as Viking beat Beechdown.

The winning quartet was Emma Day, Jo Berry, Deborah Vincent and Ruth Cairns.

Phoenix recovered to have a 5-1 win against visiting Waverley for whom Susan Pike and Chris-Louise Estrada were the only successful pairing.

Both Weston and Melissa Wolfe took part in three winning rubbers for Phoenix with Rendall and Mason participating in two.

The second Phoenix win was away to Viking as Rendall and Neale won all the three rubbers in which they took part, complimented by Mason and Wolfe who each won two rubbers.

Ruth Cairns and Caroline Stevens won the home side’s sole point.
