BASINGSTOKE professional boxer Darryl Still dedicated his sixth straight victory to his nine week old son George.

The 30-year-old dominated his latest fight, winning all four rounds in 40-36 points victory over Gavin Putney at the Coronet Theatre Elephant and Castle in London.

He is now hoping his next bout will be a Southern Area Welterwight title fight against Gavin Tait, who won a bloody battle with Chas Symonds that topped the same bill last Friday.

Still only knew he was facing Putney four days before the fight, but the Basingstoke boxer was very much the aggressor, taking the centre of the ring.

Still turned in a very workmanlike performance and in the third threw a couple of nice hooks to the body followed by a cluster of good shots.

He was cheered on by a large majority of the |workforce from his new sponsors Marble Construction.

The bout, shown live on Hatton TV, was always going to have one winner and if it had gone for a couple more rounds Still believed he would have knocked his man down.

Having watched the title fight, the Basingstoke-born boxer is keener than ever to get into the ring and said: “I think I have the beating of Tait, we will just have to wait and see where and when the fight takes place.”

That may well be a while as Tait suffered two nasty cuts in his defeat of Symonds.
