THE BASINGSTOKE Bison’s second English Premier League campaign came to a heart-breaking end on Sunday night as they lost in the play-off quarter-finals to Milton Keynes Lightning.

The defeat capped an anti-climatic end to the season, coming less than a fortnight after the Bison were edged out in the final of the EPL Cup in Slough.

In a reflective mood, the Herd’s player/coach Steve Moria said: “The team has certainly improved this season as I felt we were a top three side, even thou we finished fourth.

“In the cup final, I felt we were the better team, and again last weekend, but we did not get the luck we needed to win those games.”

The Bison boss will now talk to all his current squad as he looks to bring back a good core of |players for next season’s campaign.

Moria said: “In an ideal world, I would like to keep all the players and add to them, but we cannot afford to do that. I will be talking to all the players and also looking at who else is available.”

One player definitely back for next season is Moria himself as he will lace up the skates for one last season.

He said: “I am going to give it one last year as I want to go out on a high.”
