ANOTHER important member of last season’s Basingstoke Bison Brit pack – Andy Hemmings – is back for another year with the Herd after re-signing this week.
The Guildford-born 21-year-old forward, pictured, enjoyed his best season so far in the English Premier League and Bison boss Steve Moria believes there is more to come.
“He certainly has all the tools and his game can only develop more. He has great speed and a good head for the game,” said Moria “I thought last season, in spells, Hemmer was outstanding. He is a young player who is still learning and now it is a matter of being consistent for the whole of the season. With his ability, I see no reason why he cannot do that.”
Last year, Hemmings was the Herd’s third highest British league goal scorer behind Ollie Bronnimann and Nicky Chinn, hitting the net 14 times.
He also added 19 assists for a final points total of 33, which was more than double his previous best in the EPL – 16 the year before in Bracknell.
Before that, the player had also played for his home-town team, the Guildford Flames.
The addition of Hemmings leaves the Herd looking for just two British players to complete their roster for the forthcoming season.
