Good Evans! Jonathan is county king

JONATHAN Evans was crowned Hampshire champion last week at the Hampshire Schools Championship held at the Waterside Table Tennis Centre, Totton.

This was highlight of an excellent day for Basingstoke players where, along with Evans in the under-16 boys event, Matthew Wilson and Louis Webb also won their groups.

Evans’ victory now means he will represent Hampshire at the English Schools event in April.

In the girls’ events, Zoe Blagbrough made it to the under-16 final before losing to England international Tressa Armitage from Winchester.

Holly Edwards was runner-up in the under-13 section and Amy Blagbrough reached the finals of the under-11 event, before being defeated by a more experienced player.
