THE ANNUAL Festive of Sport between Basingstoke and Euskirchen again proved a great success last weekend.
More than 120 visitors arrived from the German town to participate in sport and social events.
This year proved a very successful one for the home teams as they were overall winners, taking back the trophy for the first time in eight years!
Special congratulations should go to both tae kwon-do and volleyball teams who both won on their festival debuts.
The Calleva girls football team was also victorious, along with Totally Tennis.
Also praise should go to St Mary’s Junior School and Everest Community College for a successful first time participation.
The last night event at Milestones Museum was a great success with performances from the Old Basing British Legion Band, Flippin Bonkers Gymnastics Squad, Brighton Hill Dancers and Oil Drums and singer James Mitchell, plus the Mark Halliday Disco.
The 2010 festival will take place between July 1 and 4.
