FORMER Guy Jewell Cup winners Old Basing booked a quarter-final showdown with Ramsdell on Monday at May’s Bounty, after beating RNA Sports by 18 runs.
The victors batted first and amassed 182-5 from their 20 overs, as Darren Turner top scored with an unbeaten 45, supported well by Dan Belcher (43) and Andy Pope (32 not out).
In reply, Kevin Light hit a superb 80 for RNA Sports as they nearly produced a shock result, but in the end were all out for 164.
In the Guy Jewell Plate, Rotherwick ITW booked their place in the last eight by beating Sun Life of Canada by five wickets with two balls to spare.
Ian Finlayson, with an unbeaten 92, was Rotherwick’s hero, while Chris Swift hit 51 in their winning score of 186-5. Earlier Sun Life made 182-2, with Coulthard making 87.
