BASINGSTOKE and North Hants just failed to make it a hat-trick of league wins in as many weeks. as they lost by eight runs at local rivals Finchampstead on Saturday.
In a tense finish, the visitors fell just short of the winning line needing 10 off the final two overs with one wicket left, they were bowled out for 225.
The loss was even more heart breaking, when you consider opening batsman Lee Nurse hit an superb unbeaten 116, while West Indian pace man Gavin Tonge took a magnificent seven for 81.
