Great comeback keeps Cup dream alive

THE BASINGSTOKE Bison produced the comeback of the season, as they knocked out the Challenge Cup holders the Nottingham Panthers on Saturday night, with 5-3 victory.

The Herd trailed 3-0 at the first break after Jade Galbraith, Johan Molin and Kevin Bergin had all scored for the visitors.

The home side hit back, to level the game just five minutes into the second period, as Brent Hughes, Greg Chambers and Warren Tait all netted.

Shaun Thompson their edged the Bison ahead in a nail biting final 20 minutes and Chambers with his second in the final minute completed the victory, which keeps alive Basingstoke’s hopes of their first semi-final place in the competition.
