HARTLEY Wintney’s hopes of avoiding relegation were dealt a bitter blow as they lost at OTs and Romsey by eight wickets.
The visitors won the toss and elected to bat and were soon in trouble at 36-4, with only Jonny Kerr (16) making double figures.
Jamie Teale (17) and Matt Rudd (11) helped the score to 60, but wickets continued to fall as they were bowled out for 97 with Harry Broderick unbeaten on 13 at the end.
The home side’s James Trodd (3-26) and Jody Brown (3-16) were the top wicket takers.
In reply, Elliot Mitchell-Lee led the way with 47 not out as they got home with the loss of just two wickets. Ben Earney and Jamie Teale picking one up each.
Hartley this afternoon are in T20 Cup semi-final action at Hook. This starts at 3pm.
