HARTLEY Wintney found Southern League champions elect Bournemouth as hot as the recent weather, as they lost by 188 runs in Dorset.

The home side looking to chalk up their sixth straight win won the toss and decided to bat.

They got off to a solid enough start, but with 40 runs on the board both openers were back in the pavilion as Dan Wrenn and Ben Earney took early wickets.

After this Luke Webb (26) and top scorer Chris Park (82 not out) started to build the platform for victory.

First change bowler Dan Reynaldo removed Webb, but Edward Denham (26) and Park carried on building a useful target.

Hyde dismissed Denham, but this only brought Simon Woodruff to the centre and he hit a 37 ball 50, which included seven fours and one six, before he was bowled by Scott Baldwin.

Park and Jake Hurley added 11 more to the total, as Bournemouth finished on 243-5.

Park unbeaten on 82 from 122 balls saw him hit five fours and one six.

The Hartley reply was soon in trouble, as Jake Hurley (4-22) and Dan Conway (2-9), took out the top order as only Angus Brown made it into double figures.

Of the rest of the batting line-up James Beckwith top scored unbeaten with 14, which included the only six of the innings and Wrenn scored 10.

Dominic Clutterbuck (2-9) and Robert Pack (2-13) removed the tail, as Hartley were all out for 55 in 18.4 overs.

This Saturday, Hartley are back home, when Andover are the visitors.
