CHARLOTTE Huddart has been selected to represent Great Britain in Target Sprint World Championships in Changwon, South Korea this coming September.

Huddart will compete in two out of three races, this being the individual junior women's event and either mixed junior relay or mixed pairs.

Target Sprint is a run-and-shoot competition, similar to a winter biathlon. Each competitor is required to run 400 metres, shoot five knock-down targets (10m distance with an air rifle), repeat and finish with a final 400m sprint to the finish line. This a total of 1200m running and 10 knock-down targets shot when breathless from the running.

Changwon is known as the best shooting facility in the world, so Huddart is very excited to go there for the World Championships and also to attend such a fantastic venue.

The estimated cost for each competitor for the competition is £2,500, Huddart, who has just finished her A levels at QMC has already received £500 from Loddon Valley Lions, but is looking for more sponsorship ahead of the event.

Anyone wishing to sponsor Huddart can contact her via the email shuddart@dsl.pipex.com or ring 0118 981 9841.
