BASINGSTOKE Town returned to winning ways in their pre-season with a comfortable 6-0 win at Hampshire rivals Fleet Town.

It took the visitors seven minutes to take the lead, as Charlie Osborne scored from the edge of the area.

Sam Smart then grabbed his first of two goals on the night, before Guri Demuria converted a George Bennett's corner to make it 3-0.

Another Bennett corner saw Sam Argent volley home to add number four and then Bennett himself scored a fifth with a header, before the half time whistle.

Seven minutes after the interval Smart cut in from left and slotted the ball between the goalkeeper's legs to complete the 6-0 scoreline.

Town's next pre-season game is behind closed doors against Aldershot on Friday and they are then away at Alresford on Tuesday night.
