HOOK and Newnham Basics booked their place in the second round of the T20 Cup after a 14 run victory over visiting OTs and Romsey.
The home side batted first and were bowled out for 122 in 20 overs with Matt Buckingham top scored with 54, with Josh Buckingham (16) and Alex Brown (11) the next best scorers.
In reply, opener Elliot Mitchell-Lee made 41, but they finished short of their target on 108-9 as Anik Divecha (4-17) was the chief wicket taker, well supported by Rhodes Franklin (2-18) and Harry Warner (2-20).
Hook are back in Southern League Divison One action on Saturday, when leaders Bournemouth are the visitors.
