BASINGSTOKE and North Hants booked their place in the second round of the T20 Cup after an excellent 21 run win at Ventnor.
The visitors were put into bat and made 171-7 from their 20 overs.
Opener Ben Thane led the way with 56 from 38 balls which included six fours and three sixs.
He was well supported by Craig Williamson (30) and Chris Jolley (21).
In reply, Ventnor scored 150-7, as Matt Thankachan (3-24) was chief wicket taker and David Griffiths chipped in with 2-22.
