THE championships of both Basingstoke and District Sunday divisions were settled in midweek rather than the final weekend of the season writes TONY SPENCER.

Last Tuesday, was the Division One decider, where saw new champions Republic of Chineham beat Bramley United 4-3, as Ben Nichols was their hat-trick hero and their other goal came from Sam Nichols. Bramley's final run-in was congested over the past few weeks and this must have taken its toll, their goals came from Adam Bartlett, Gordon Birch and Nick Harris.

In Division Two on Tuesday, Team FC took on bottom club Shallow End, winning 2-1 and securing the Division Two title with a game in hand.

The final games over the holiday weekend did not change the final positions much.

Champions Republic of Chineham won 6-2 away at bottom side Eastrop Eagles.

Ben Nichols chalking up another hat-trick, supported by a brace from Ashley Elward and a Ross Holt strike. Nathan Bennis and Louis Chambers netted for the Eagles.

Hampshire Irons could not raise a side, so the points will be awarded to runners-up Bramley United.

Camrose Social lost to Overton United 3-0, which resulted in the visitors leapfrogging their hosts into third.

Chris Waller, Craig Atkinson and George Upton scored for Overton.

A couple of fixtures were not played, as teams could not be raised, which will lead to points being awarded to the clubs expecting to play, but these will not affect the final league positions.

Don't miss the final match of the season, though, the highlight of the season this Sunday, kick-off 11am at Winklebury, the All-Champions Cup between Saturday champions Twentyten and Sunday supremos Republic of Chineham.
