THE BASINGSTOKE Bison Ladies lose out in the final minutes against the Swindon Topcats in a close battle last Saturday.

The ladies travelled to Swindon Saturday evening to meet the Swindon Topcats for the first time this season.

It only took the Bison six minutes to open up the scoring when a pass from Hannah Byron found Lauren Pilbeam who calmly finished top shelf to put them 1-0 up at the first buzzer.

Unfortunately, midway into the second period the Topcats levelled the game with Captain Louise Mason collecting a bouncing puck off the boards and finishing back hand.

With the third period looming the game was very end to end with an even amount of shots from both teams.

However, with less than 2 minutes to go and the game seemingly heading for a draw Swindon's Jessica Sprules finished a neat passing move to put the home team in front.

Bison ladies tried everything in the last minute of the game to level the score but just came up short.

They have a chance for quick revenge on Sunday (6.15pm) when Swindon visit Basingstoke.
