DAN Weller-Evans recorded his first ever league shut-out for the Basingstoke Bison, as they beat the visiting Cardiff Fire.
The Welsh-born shot stopper turned away all 15 shots he faced from the Fire on his way to the man of the match award.
At the other end Basingstoke-born goalie Jordan Lawday had a busier evening on the way to his man of the match award, as the Herd ended up just one shot shy of fifty shots on target.
Grant Rounding scored their opener in the fifth minute, which was quickly followed by a strike from Tomas Karpov.
Rounding added second of the night, before Oscar Evans made it 4-0 by the first buzzer.
The second session saw five more Bison goals as Dan Davies, Paul Petts, Evans with second, Davies again along with Aaron Connolly completed the comfortable win.
Next up is a much tougher game when Bracknell are the visitors to Basingstoke on Saturday. The big derby clash gets underway at six thirty pm
