ONCE again the generous dart players of Basingstoke gathered to play the Bert Kelly Men’s Pairs and the Phyl Kelly Ladies Pairs, to raise money for St Michaels Hospice.

The competition in his 19th year was held at the Academy Club with 24 Men’s Pairs and eight Ladies Pairs taking part.

The Ladies Pairs winners were Debbie Shadwell/Angela Hogan, as last year’s runners up, saw off defending champions Maria Agozzino/Anne-Marie Burry, on their way to the final, where they beat Fiona Pickin/Jackie Roush 3-1.

The Men’s Pairs winners saw defending champions Paul Hogan/Dave Cummings make it a husband and wife double as his Paul's wife Angela won the Ladies event, with a 4-2 victory in the final over Mark Petchey/Ricky Humber.

This year’s losing Semi Finalists were Shaun and Scott Vickery and once again as last year Graham Hardy and Simon Gosling.

Organisers John and Tracey Bartlett would like to thank all those who attended and donated to make this year’s event a success as £250 was raised for charity.

Thanks should also go to the Basingstoke Darts League and a big thank you to the Academy Club for hosting the event, supplying the trophies and also the bar staff for their help and support.
